Great things are happening for 2018, but before we get to that, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who helped make 2017 another successful year for my little photography business at the beach. Every year I am so thankful for my clients.  You welcome me into your family and entrust in me to capture significant life moments. I love giving this gift which is then frozen in time.

When I began to reflect on what I am truly doing for families, I realized a major milestone in the life of a family was missing in what I capture. I also began to get thirsty for furthering my creativity and felt the need to continue learning more about the art of photography in other areas. This is where my passion to begin Newborn Photography was born. (Yes, that was an unintentional pun, lol) I have spent nearly a year learning from industry greats, studying those ohhhhh so cute poses, learning how to safely handle a newborn and gather the right equipment and props needed to succeed.

A dear friend of mine allowed me to capture images of her and her family during their stages of welcoming a new baby into their family, which is what you now see in galleries on my website.  We started with a Fresh 48 Hospital Session, and then also did an in home Lifestyle Session and a Newborn Portrait Session. Her images came out so beautifully and made me even more excited to be on the additional journey in my photography offerings.

Megan and Richard : Beach Wedding : Destin, Florida Photographer

The days leading up to Richard and Megan's wedding were nail biters as Hurricane Nate came up through the Gulf. But these two stayed calm and let the storms pass, knowing the sun would shine again.  The days after storms like that, can have some of the most beautiful weather, and that is exactly what their day was like. The beach has practically washed out during the storms and by their wedding day just enough of a sliver was open to have their ceremony on the beach. Weather was perfect, the sun was shining and everyone was happy to be gathered to celebrate this family of three finally becoming one.  Megan had a sweet moment doing a first look with her dad just before seeing Richard. The first look with Richard was one of my favorite moments of the day. You can see in the pictures just how nervous and excited he was to be able to see his bride. Their daughter was just as much of a part of their day as she showed her spunky personality and got to wear her own white dress. She also helped to dance the night away on their dance floor just above a backyard pool. This was the kind of night that was a party rather than a quiet reception and I loved every minute of hanging with this group! Thank you Megan and Richard for having me be a part of your day. Come back to the Gulf coast often, just don't bring the hurricane next time. :)

Michelle and Jeremy : Holiday Isle, Destin Florida : Wedding Photography

Michelle and Jeremy are my favorite kind of love story! I first met Michelle just a few months before her wedding and was instantly in love with this couple! At the time these two met, Michelle lived in Destin and Jeremy was serving over seas. A little dating app introduced these two and after a few weeks of constant communication, these two knew that had an undeniable connection. After a few months Jeremy was able to come back to the US for a short visit. But their first meeting wasn't going to be so easy. Canceled flights, not a rental car within miles and unpredictable traffic, these love birds ignored every obstacle that tried to stop their first encounter.  Finally they met in person in a restaurant parking lot outside of Atlanta. where they were suppose to have dinner. But Jeremy didn't make it in time so they just made do for the evening. The next day they traveled back to Destin, where Jeremy says he knew he was "home" being with Michelle. From here on, their hearts were inseparable and knew they were each others forever. Jeremy wasted no time asking Michelle to marry him. On his next visit home the next month he planned the perfect moment. They were walking along the beach when Jeremy stopped to pretend he found an awesome seashell. (Clever way to get down on one knee, might I add) He called Michelle over and once she was next to him, he pulled out the ring and popped the question! Michelle's adorable response "PRETTY PLEASE!!". Not wanting to be presumptuous, Jeremy asked for clarification, and Michelle said "yes!"

Over the next few months they managed to plan their wedding together even though Jeremy was back over seas. Michelle would meet with vendors then talk with Jeremy over Facetime to confirm their choices.  Before they knew it, it was only a few days before their wedding when Jeremy got to come home again. They joined with their closest friends and family who could not have been more supportive of this duo. Michelle grew up in a military family traveling the world, so this lifestyle was familiar to her.

Following their wedding night, Jeremy was home for a few weeks longer before he had to leave again. Shortly after, Michelle packed her bags too and was off to Greece to join him to live as husband and wife together.  I have to say, selfishly, I am sad Michelle left us in Destin. That day we met at Starbucks to meet for the first time and talked wedding "talk" we sat for over 3 hours talking as if we had been friends for years. I felt I got to watch a friend get married, and even a few days before she left for Greece, I got to see her again to say goodbye. She is just the kind of girl anyone can get along with and I am so happy to see she found her prince charming and was swept off her feet.

Michelle and Jeremy, come back and see us soon and often, but have fun traveling the world together. Thank you both for your service to our country.

Carillon Beach Wedding : April and Steven : Panama City Beach, Florida

April and Steven had a small but beautifully intimate wedding on Carillon Beach, which sets just on the edge of the Bay and Walton County line, and just over a small bridge from the iconic 30A.  One of the amazing features of the Carillon community is that there are numerous wedding venue options. For this fun couple, they were the first ever to choose to have their ceremony on one of the beach walkovers that are beautifully designed architectural pieces. This was a perfect option for them because the smaller space was able to perfectly seat their 8 guests while the Gulf of Mexico and white sand beaches provided the backdrop. April adds "The beach walkover was gorgeous. It really made for an intimate setting where we could share making a beautiful memory with our family. Having Carillon Inn, the beach, and the rental house all within a short walk was spectacular, and while we had a small wedding, we didn't feel like we were forgotten. Avis, our planner from Peach and Pearl Events knew just who to go to for a great cake, beautiful flowers and everything else that came up."

Jody and Jeremy had a September wedding that dreams are made of! The wind was calm, the temperature was cool, and the sunset was AMAZING! They chose a wonderful beach house in Destin, Florida with a backyard that doubled as their dance floor and dining. It was the perfect mix of sand between your toes and backyard fun!

One of the most special parts of this day was the beautiful flower girl, Jeremy's daughter. She stood up with them as they became a family. Jody shared some very special words with her that brought tears to Jeremy as he witnessed his two loves build on their bond together.

Another special moment included a first look between Jody and her grandparents. Seeing this sweet moment in person was so sweet! It was as if her grandparents saw their little girl, turn into a grown princess in an instant. The love is strong between this family!

Robyn and Cole : Surfisde Resort Wedding : Destin, Florida

In the weeks leading up to Robyn and Cole's wedding I felt so much excitement the couple had about their wedding. Robyn would message me on Instagram saying "hello" and sharing the upcoming events for the big day! I knew without a doubt, this would be a such a fun couple to work with on their wedding day. But what I didn't know yet, was how absolutely GORGEOUS Robyn would be on her wedding day.

For this couple, having a beach wedding was never a question "Cole and I have always had a love for the beach. We love being on the water. Being at the beach is so relaxing, and we love the atmosphere. We thought a beach wedding would be a perfect fit for us! One day we hope we are able to move to the water and start a new life there!"

She admits that the beginning stages of planning a destination wedding was stressful but once she found Surfside Resort as a venue, everything began to fall in to place. "At first I had no idea where to start. I did research on beach weddings, and tons of places popped up in my searches. I was overwhelmed and didn't really know what was best. So, I messaged a girl I went to school with that had recently got married at Surfside Resort. She talked highly of the place and Nicki!  I looked it up and noticed it was top rated one of the best places to get married, and the reviews were awesome. Best decision ever! I couldn't of picked a better place for our wedding!

She went on further to compliment Nicki, of Island Sands Beach Weddings as the planner and coordinator for the big day, "I could go on and on about Nicki! She is absolutely phenomenal! I could tell she loves what she does for a living. She is very caring and goes out of her way to make sure that your day is everything you dreamed of and more. I was so excited to finally meet Nicki. I swear I think I hugged her a million times on the day of the wedding . It was nothing short of perfect! My heart was so overwhelmed of joy. I love her dearly! She holds a special place in my heart for making my dream wedding come true."

Robyn, Cole and I began as strangers on their wedding day besides a few phone calls and messages but I think we left that day as friends. Of course since Robyn was so open about her planning process and review of the day, I couldn't help but ask why she chose me as her photographer. Her response nearly brought me to tears. " I loved your style! Nicki gave me many options but you stood out the most to me. The way you capture images is so beautiful. You capture all the precious moments that every bride wants to look back on. You also made it super fun, so I was so happy to have you with us on our special day! You will also always have a special place in our heart. You gave us gorgeous pictures that we will cherish for a lifetime!"

Hannah and Jake : Tie the Knot! : Palafax Wharf : Pensacola, FL

With a year of intense weather on the coast, Hannah and Jake had their wedding at the Palafax Wharf in Pensacola, following our tropical storm in June. It seemed the sky cleared and the winds calmed just in time to have majority of their wedding go to plan. The ceremony was moved to the back deck of the venue, but otherwise everything they planned for over a year came to life in a beautiful way! The New World Inn located in the Historic District of Downtown Pensacola was the setting for the bridal preparations. It provided a beautiful old charm. The first look took place just outside the Palafax Wharf, and the boardwalk and marina supplied a coastal feel for their portraits! All in all, it was a perfect day!

Jamie and Cameron had a beautiful wedding on 30A at Fine Art 30A in South Walton, Florida. It is a beautiful art gallery that doubles as a wedding venue. Jamie had her bridal crew with her that included some of the sweetest little flower girls that looked at Jamie like she was a princess. Jamie sure didn't fall short of it, she looked STUNNING! Their beach ceremony sure was breezy but it didn't change how loving their vows were to each other. The night carried on at the Fine Art 30A where they had an amazing dance floor, and outdoor dinning. The night closed down with a fun sparkler exit in front of the Gallery. 

Heather is the wedding coordinator and owner of the venue and she didn't miss a beat all night providing this sweet couple with the wedding of their dreams! Her staff is so friendly and professional. She also provided her in house services for the cake and DJ entertainment.  Please check this venue out if you are looking for a great spot along 30A!

Seaside Wedding Chapel : 30A in South Walton : Carley and Andrew, say "I do"

Seaside. Florida...if you've never visited, you are missing out on one of the most awarded communities on the Gulf Coast and no doubt, the most awarded on 30A in South Walton. With awards for its urban design, best beaches and Airstream Row of food trucks, this community was even the center stage for the movie The Truman Show. It's amazing how much is packed into a small town. Drive back through the beach cottage style homes where they are known more by names rather than their street address and you will find this adorable yet classic white chapel. Carley and Andrew decided to say their vows inside the Seaside Interfaith Chapel with bright evening sun shining through. Waiting as a surprise outside was a romantic classic car by A Bride's Ride to swoop them away to the beach for their sunset portraits and then their dinner reception at Bud and Alley's, a restaurant with the best Gulf view in Seaside. B-Boy Productions provided excellent DJ service to let the dance floor ignite for all ages!

Andrew and Carley, thank you so much for having me as a part of your day. You were a breeze to work with and the camera just loved you! I wish you nothing but the best for years to come!

Beach Wedding in Destin, Florida : Lindsey and Jason

Lindsey and Jason had a beautiful wedding day in Destin, Florida. The week started with their engagement portraits at Eden Gardens State Park where a quick, but heavy rain down pour paused the session for a bit. Once the rain stopped, we continued with their session and oh my....they looked so great in the plush green gardens! A few days later, clear of any rain, they tied the knot on the beach and then had a private intimate dinner by the pool at their beach house rental.

Lindsey, you looked amazing on your wedding day that I know you worked very hard for! Jason, they way you looked at her said a million words! You two will be very happy for many years to come!

HIghlands House Wedding : Tiffany and Brian : 30A Santa Rosa Beach, FL

This fitness duo is one with a beautiful love story. Both Tiffany and Brian have served our country and while on deployment they would both spend their time in the gym. Having never met before their common interest is what led their paths to cross.  Their first date took place while still on deployment and with a lack of options there to do, they just took a long walk together, which Tiffany said was "still an amazing date". It seems as though these two don't need the frills and thrills to make them happy together. And I feel I witnessed that first hand. On the day of their wedding, I showed up in Tiffany's room first. She was a bit nervous, maybe more tense than anything. Shortly after I saw Brian. He was nervous too, not very talkative. After a little while, they had their "first look" together. Instantly, both of their demeanor's changed. Tiffany seemed to relax and melt and Brian appeared as if his whole world was wrapped in his arms. It was so powerful that after their moment passed, I felt so inclined to tell them how amazing that was to witness. Now as I review and perfect their images, I still see that emotion in each of their images together. I think that smile on Tiffany is something unique that Brian creates.

Tiffany and Brian, thank you for allowing me into your wedding day. And thank you for your service, dedication and sacrifice for our country.  I wish nothing but the best of adventures for you two and I know where ever your path leads, you will still be doing push-ups in the best of moments!

Well now it is time to show how gorgeous their wedding played out at Tops'l Beach and Racquet Resort in Miramar Beach, Florida. This was a destination wedding, but you never would have guessed with the large turnout they had with their friends and family. The ceremony took place on the beautiful beach at the resort and the reception followed in a private event room at the resort. Perfection. Everything about this wedding was perfect. From the quality time getting ready with their wedding party and family all the way to the final toasts. After beginning to plan a wedding in their hometown, Brittany and Jay decided it wasn't feeling like what their vision for their wedding day was. So they ditched their plans at home and headed for the beach. The funny thing is, Brittany doesn't even like the beach all that much so they decided to use the awesome lawn space at Gulf Place on 30A in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. As the day unfolded I was so excited about what I was able to capture for them. The beautiful greenery at Draper Lake provided a wonderful backdrop for their first look, which each of them nailed. Even with photographers around them, they managed to let themselves be in the moment and only see each other. Their ceremony was held on the stage of the Gulf Place lawn and their reception was just a skip away under the tent where they had a romantic rustic vibe setting the mood. Last on the trail was their sunset portraits which depicts our South Walton Beaches perfectly. We had an amazing sunset over the Gulf....just in time before a rain downpour and strong winds nearly took us away! I don't think that storm came close to putting a dent on their day though.
